Just finished a job by adding an fcu in an airing cupboard so a feed can be taken from there to run a whirlpool bath. Zs was fine and so was the trip times of the rcd protecting the ring that I took a spur from. My question is apart from the minor works for the fcu in the airing cupboard I took a cable from that to an IP 65 adadptable box positioned under the bath near the pump so I connected the pump to that.would I need a seperate cert for the adaptable box?

Id stick it all on 1 mate. No point in making more paperwork is there??
Cheers mate. I had a nightmare trying to get the feed in there too. Chipboard floor sheets are a pain I prefer floor boards anytime.

How did you do the chipboard mate? You got one of them round cutters and put the plastic insert in or you do it another way?

I invested in one of those cutters that you can put a plate down in its place. handy bit of kit.

Dont you Domestic lads start getting a taste for industrial work :) otherwise we may have no one to do them. Industrial work is bad, its dirty, and you have to wear hard hats in bed.

I started off doing industrial work and yes it's bad, dirty and I don't remember ever wearing a hard hat in those days but!!! it's more straight forward and less troublesome than domestics and I miss those BS88's and those old rewirable dist boards..sigh!!

IND now is a nightmare for H&S and RA & MS ,

fer frig sake, cant even change a lamp in a pendant without 10 pages of paperwork and a scaffold platform to get 18" off the ground!

its not worth it folks, stick with your domestic, ;)

i use either a 102 / 127 / 150mm holesaw. then screw 2 bits of 2x1 under and drop cut out back in. much cheaper than replacement plates

I had to stand on a pallet then was raised by a forklift to change florrie tubes when I was a 16 year old. I can understand H&S in this situation but It has gone a bit OTT now. Domestic work might still have a future until my lottery numbers come up.

H&S dont get me started, I remember the good old days when you could get the job done.

H&S is now a whole new industry making money for someone, way over the top in some circumstances although necessary in others.

That's the way it is now but like you say some of it has saved lives and serious injury
