Hi,

If changing like for like (pendant down and fancy fitting up) and the cables were a bit short so extended them by 3" will that require a MWC or not needed as like for like

like for like mate,,,,ensure all the lights on the mcb work after you have done it.. and then.....

move on !!!! ;)

 
Up to your discretion IMHO...

If your rushed.. give it a miss..

If you want to impress the customer with your technical skill and know-how..

give em a cert!

90+% of the time I would probably give it a miss.

Would still do basic polarity, and Zs tests during the change to be sure you don't leave something daft with no earth and a really high resistance joint somewhere down the circuit!

WHich is a good argument for a MWC as why do the tests if you don't record the results.

I would disagree that changing a Class II pendant for a Class I 'fancy fitting' is like for like.
