when wiring a new build are most boilers now placed in airing cupboards along with pump and valves etc?

how would you wire for a boiler thats say mounted in the kitchen

i.e a spur or flex outlet next to boiler location (could be unsightly with a flex drooping from spur to boiler! ?) position would need to be very accurate!?

where would you locate the timer?

or its all combi boilers now with only supply and stat needed?

Yes find its mainly Combi now

Fcu near boiler position and 5 cre flex to boiler, (3 crs supply, 2crs Stat cct)

Timer on boiler

If hard wired stat then 3+e to postion from Fcu, pick up N if required off Fcu and connectors for Stat pair in 5cre.

Wireless programmable stat as another option just fit Base unit next to Fcu and wire as Stat then plonk Remote unit were you like, the Tower one I use can be kept Mobile so they can find the best spot for it to suit themselves.

only smarties have the answer,

check the schedule but as ever the job may change half way through ...

depends on the job to which they will use combi or heat only boilers ..

Flex from spur to boiler behind finished wall surface.

Generally most combi's will have an integral timer option. If not, fit a programmable room stat.
