Ok guys, here goes.

Just had some plans through for a 2 story new build so please excuse me if I bombard you all with a few questions.

Just one for now. Electrical notes state :

" Form main service cable entry below ground to terminate under the main fuseboard situated in the utility room. The meter is to be sited in an external cabinet."

I take it this short run will have to be 25mm SWA, and if so, do I use 3 core' or 2 core and run the earth seperately. Always done seperate tails up until now.

Cheers

coulpe of quick questions....

How long is the run?

Whats the earthing arrangement going to be? (I assume PME as new build?)

2core - 3core

Providing your armour is an appropriate CSA & is securely terminated correctly, it can be used as earth.

2 core 25mm SWA has an armour with sufficient CSA to be used as the Earth.

BUT if say it was going to be a TT,

you would probably want to run a separate earth conductor rather than faffing around with CU - to - SWA - to - 16mm Earth - to - Rod?

:)

You're correct in your assumption of PME, and Meter is on same wall as CU, (only outside)

Many thanks

Are they back to back? if so does not make sense to go underground, it would make more sense to run out of the meter box into the cavity and then through the internal wall to the CU

About 6 feet to the side and 3 feet lower than the CU. Would love to charge through with the Kango :^O and will discuss it with client if I get the job but for now will price as per spec.
