Hello, I haven't posted here since last July, been busy, busy, busy.
This set of pics is from a shop build that we've almost completed. The building was a "franchise" block on the site of one of our customers. It had six units. The plan was to knock four of the units into one and keep the other two as storage. Work was started even though one of the units was still occupied and the occupant didn't leave until halfway through the build.
The new shop would be a pets and Aqautics shop.
Just after the false ceiling and some of the wall were knocked down:

This is where the head and mains distribution were located. It was a small staff room at the back, it was used as a smoking room at some point, hence the slightly yellowy nature of the spurs and sockets. The SWA cables supplied sub-boards around the franchise, the majority of which would be cut off. Some of the meters have already been removed:

Ok, half-way through the build and these two boards are where the old boards were in the previous pic. The false ceiling is gone and so have the walls. The board on the left will be the mains distribution: one for the board on the right and three others left on site. It's 100amps 3ph.

This pic show the building from one side to the other. The far side used to be a clothes shop, The glass front to the right was where a health food shop was and the pic was taken from where a garden machinery shop used to be. The new boards can be seen on the right, this is where the staff room and toilet used to be. The wall with the boards was cut in half and re-enforce with a second layer of blockwork.

Where the health food shop used to be. The walls, ceiling and old electrics where ripped out within hours of the previous owners leaving.

A little bit of improvisation:

This is where the fish tanks are going. The insulation on over the former entrance to the clothes shop and on the ceiling are to prevent direct sunlight onto the tanks.

Sockets for the tanks. One socket does the power for heaters and pumps, while the other does the lights. There are ten racks each containing three tanks. All the lighting in the racks will be switched via one isolator. The 3x3 trunking we installed runs around the perimeter of the building on the purling. We then branched out and down the walls in conduit.

bit of a jump in time. The tanks are in.

Light fittings. We ran conduit along the purlings and used clicks for connections. The fittings are twin 42Watt PLTE's. The box on the ceiling is the air conditioning/heating system. I thinks it's going to be worked very hard in this building.

The rest of the shop. The shop fitters have been in and we haven't got the rest of the lights up yet. Always the cart before the horse with this lot.
DSCF0044 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
Reptile rack. All manner of snakes, gecko's tortoises etc, stored in there with their rather noisy live food on the shelving next to it.
DSCF0048 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
The animal house, where all the fluffy things live. Including rats.
DSCF0047 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
Tills and Information desk. Still need to be wired up.

Thats it for now. more pics to follow and perhaps some with some electrical work in. ROTFWL
