Hi all,

I'm fairly new to the forum more of a reader than a poster but hey.

Right a little bit of my previous history some time ago I had been on an apprenticeship and completed approximately 2 years of it, then I left the apprenticeship due to financial commitments after being out of the industry for about 10 years I decided to finish off and have since carried out my 2330 training to level 3, I have also since then completed the regs course and PAT and 2392-10 t&I, as well as these I have been working for the last year and a half for 2 companies 1 as a maintenance spark and the other was more install work. Since being back in the industry the learning curve has been steep to say the least but more refreshing previous experience and I feel confident in the knowledge I have, but I also realise I don't know it all. Anyway the 1st company I worked for liquidated in July 2010 and the 2nd Company was a short term contract to finish a big job I'm struggling to find any suitable jobs and I'm making preparations to start up by myself

I would like to hear your thoughts .

Thanks again

Oh forgot to add I have not completed the 2330 NVQ onsite assessment should this cause me any real difficulties? I would like to complete I just have not had to opportunity I won't go into details many thanks

Only 1 opinion I guess everybody is still eating Sunday roast ??

You're correct there Smiley .

Now , you say you are going to start up on your own , the later qualifications, after 1932 mean nothing to me , and you say you've done 2 years of an apprenticship ,so my question is , are you an electrician ?

If so , and with jobs hard to find, go for it.

Thanks for your replying guys, the 2330 is the current install quals which I believe are soon to change again! The 2392 is the test inspect fundamentals plus of course the regs ticket so yes of course I class myself as a spark it's just a bit daunting going for it. I'm assuming most of you guys are self employed sparks is there any advice you could give me to make this a successful venture thanks again
