Sorry folks, another mundane pricing question.

Customer has dropped neutral on ring that's caused conductors to scorch and insulation to melt. Not been able to locate break and the circuit is in pretty dire condition so recommended it be rewired. Straight cable replacement to existing points and renewal of sockets (9 points). Wooden floors, carpeted, not too much furniture. Circuit covers dining room and through lounge plus hallway. Existing RCD protection at CU. Customer is not overly happy about this as I was only supposed to be fitting a socket in porch.

Was thinking a couple of days work.

Don't want to go in too high as customer is having kitchen done in a couple of months and needs the wiring sorted here which is in a similar condition.

The whole installation looks like it's had Mr David Ivor Yusuf Bob and his tinkering hands all over it.

I do tend to favour radials normally but they have a 2Kw fire in the lounge which gets used regularly. If someone decides to do some ironing in the dining room then it's going to run pretty close with TV and computer on as well so i'm sticking with the ring on this one.
