Can anyone give me an idea on the sort of Observations and recommendations put down on a testing cert. eg how you word it etc..etc...

Hello Smithjim.....

to be a bit blunt.... It does depend upon what the observation is you have found???

Even so they should be written out as clear as possible for Joe-Public (customer) to understand minimizing jargon & tech speak wherever possible!

there are some examples in the On-Site-Guide... Page 153...

It may be easier if you described a problem and we gave options of how to word it....

Off the top of my head some common ones I have used are:-

Purpose of circuit fuses not identified.

Inadequate mechanical protection for external wiring to shed.

Insufficient cable supports for garage wiring.

Deterioration and wear evident on pendant lamp fittings.

Switch mechanism jammed on, on kitchen socket outlet.

230v open light fitting too near to bath/shower zones.

Insufficient number of socket outlets in some rooms.

etc..

etc..

an niceic inspector gave me a good one....

if testing a tt spike Ze in wet weather/wet ground conditions....and you get a highish reading...eg. 150 ohms...

reduce the next inspection period or recommend a retest in dry conditions, to make sure the Ze is always under 200 ohms....
