Oh listen to him now, singing dancing bouncing around like a new born lamb, following his own descriptive of yesterday I can only think that he took it to the garage ???????

I have to admit it  ,  yes I took it down the garage we do some work for  ...I knew I'd pushed my knees  far enough  , I've been on two sticks before now thinking I'm  still 25  .

Anyway it wasn't  resistor  or fan motor  , I had indeed switched it on  along with the ignition  ...it was a  plug-in relay  in the fuseboard    .    No way of finding out what the relays do  ,  guy there swapped them around  and replaced the dud.  :C

I'll post a picture later in case anyone gets the same problem .    I think theres a couple of Combi owners on here.

Call yourself an electrician bah humbug,

oh a relay eh, so what not diagnosed these before?

I know know what you mean though car relays are a rule unto themselves and very few vehicles are labelled correctly to give you half a chance of finding the correct one as many are the same.

cars have so much eelctrical stuff these days, all tucked away in nasty corners. My pet hate is trying to remove plastic panels to access the dark recesses - without breaking the lugs  :^O

Usually if the resistor is gone it is just the low speeds that are affected. The high speed is direct from the switch.

Just a tip for the future lol.

The  resistor lives in the heater duct and is an evil little chap that likes to start fires. (corsa).

I did not know it was the same as the Combo . Thanks for that Sharpend.

In the handbook  for the van  all the fuses are identified by numbers  and a picture  .....none of them mentions  the heater motor .

Even the software at the garage doesn't show what the relays do .  I'm just downloading my phone photos and I can show you the relay .

The one with the hole in the top .

@ruston there are three type of corsa-  b, c , d only c is relevant to vans the other two are diffferent.

@Evans Electric Yes I am aware that the corsa/combo dos not show the heater specifically, out of interest do you know what number/ref that really is labelled under in the handbook?

I miss my combo 1.3cdti :(

Was the best van Ive driven about in the last 10 years.

Definitely a jobber van!

Currently driving a transit connect which is horribly uncomfortable, slow, cold, annoying and insecure.

By that I mean they get the side doors peeled and I have to bring the tools in every night!

So annoying as it may be being upside down in a footwell spare a thought for us connect drivers frozen to death having to drag our tools home every night!

:)

Handbook doesn't tell you what the relays are for  ,  just the fuses .  No mention of heater blower as I said  but it could be off the Air con fuse .   ( Obviously no AC on the van)

Has the  heater packed up in the  Connect  then Ducky ?   Or is it just useless ?

Best heater in the world is in Mrs Deke's   Focus    ......  warms up in no time .
