Old DOL motor starter contactor, at the bottom are the overloads, they are the old oil filled type.

As you can see no wires connected, it was left on the machine when the new Dc injection brake was fitted.

Replacement contactors about 1/4 of the size of this!

p.s. Don't ask me which terminals are which!

If I get a chance I will take it out of the machine next time I'm working on it.

 
Sorry I thought this thread was about an old contractor and was wondering which one of you lot it was about......

Seriously, seen quite a few of these over the years - old but still in service and working perfectly, just had to periodically check the dashpots for oil levels. Apart from that never failed.
