I need a key, or a picture of one for this old MK  keyswitch. The normal 'fishkey' does not woork nor does a few other makes i have. No part number on the switch. I have about 40 of these on one job

I even tried a similar looking plastic key used to unlock toilet roll holders, it fitted but did not work.

The MK 3405 ZIC   does not fit

I also tried a small driver & failed.

Thanks but no, thats the same key as the present one. The pic i took isn't that good. Its the same fitting and physical size as the one in the link but the keyhole is twice (if not bigger) the size. I am guessing from trying different keys the prongs are deeper and further apart than the current type.

I have seen this type before, with the hole in the middle but never tried to operate one.

Never known any other MK key than the "Fishtail"  Slippery.

There is a bunch of keys in the van , I'll take a look tomorrow,  see if theres an older MK.

It always amazes me how these keys go missing. I do work for  a charity they have a mixture of MK MEM and a few other makes but nobody knows where he keys are. I did buy a few MK  and MEM through the wholesalers but no doubt they will go missing again.

A customer asked me to supply 10 spare keys a few months back. The extra ones i fitted were MK but some oddball make in the rest of the building ( about 6)  had to be changed as no keys were left.

Checked the van Slippery , but no strange ones , just C/tree,   Click and the modern MKs.

Ebay have the old style MK grid range Key Switches C/w key  @ £12  I think it was .

A small saving by keeping the original plate & grids.

Just a thought.....could you 'sacrifice' one of the existing units.....ie smash it to pieces carefully. Then see what the key. Would have looked like/ method of operation. Then make one or two of them ( posting pics on here of course ), its most likely only a piece of wrangled tin anyway. That way you only have one NEW non standard switch on site

I would be tempted to do this....as I like pratting about

.....just. Inbieber

i remember messing with one of these when i was a kid in one of my dads pubs it is a turn key one probably get a paper clip or bit or armouring to do it make a small T shape and cross ya fingers
