Oooer ummmmm.... You lot got the measure of me then!!  Funnily enough........... One of the things i been meaning to build when i get round to it is a large pulse jet....... Apparently they run with a loud booming noise that can be heard for miles!!! Needless to say, just right for the back garden!!

I got a three phase supply here too, so one of the things i keep a look out for on ebay sometimes is an Ex-ministry WW2 air raid siren!! At one time they used to test them every few months, and, i was standing right next to one once, when, just by chance, it started up! They were designed so that people in noisy factories up to two miles away could hear them. Having stood next to one running, i can tell you they worked as intended!!!

john..

10am in Berkshire & you'll hear old air raid (1950's era) sirens going off 13 of them dotted about, the one outside wokingham fire station is loud........funny watching people who are from out of the area parking their cars when it goes off...............PANIC!

We used 2 reconditioned air raid sirens in the quarry. Used as our blasting alarms.

We had to cover one half, as they were just too loud to begin with. Had complaints from the locals.
