Option To Leave Out Pv Ac Isolators

So what is the consensus on this idea then, (summer Switched on magazine Page 18)

For those with no copy yet it suggests that IF a DOUBLE POLE MCB or RCBO is used within the Consumer Unit for the AC feed in from a small scale PV system then BOTH the AC isolators traditionally fitted, One at the Invertor and the other at the Generation Meter are not required.

 
tend to work like that anyway, but most of out installs use a mini-CU to avoid duff electrics, and because we frequently run down the external wall straight into meter box. To me a main switch, which can be locked off with the right lock, is as good an isolator as a big round red thing. I tend to fit AC isolator at CU end only if it isn't clear what is the PV system - its more viual aid than a technical need to my way of thinking....

 
MCS guideline is rotary isolator lockable in off position only, but it seems a bit overkill unless inverter is shoved somewhere inaccessible like the attic.
