Oven - Lucky Escape

Had a lucky escape this week.

Oven element 'blew' on Wednesday evening.

eSpares had pattern elements in stock so paid for next day delivery.

Fitted today and all is well.

Picked up turkey from butchers this morning.

Phew!!

Yup I fixed someone's oven this week.

Called round because it didn't work. Fuse had blown.

2 days later, fuse blown again. So I waited and gave it a longer test. Found the thermostat never turned off. Customer says "I wondered why everything was burning" headbang

New thermostat arrived thursday, fitted Friday, so they can have their turkey as well.

still waiting on an element for a job - phoned on monday, part ordered monday, only got email through the night saying it was posted yesterday.

the element appears specific to that model oven, none of the main places had any in stock

i have about 10 different elements in stock, one of them is usually the right one for many ovens, except this one
