its something in 7671 i was looking for. im sure there was a table that said something like 3.5m over pedestrian access and 5.3 above a road / vehicle access

A height of 6 meters over road way & 3.5 meters all other areas in Marinas.

Its one of the Reg's hidden secrets Andy.

I have some measurements in my head but refrain from posting them in case they're wrong.

In 417.3   in the Placing out of Reach section , it  refers us to the  ESQ&CRs  2002

I can only see a given height in the Agriculture section 705.522    which is 6m

Oh thats the old Big Red too ...which is still used on the desk  ... Big Yellow is in the van .

There is a plethora of advice in the 15 Edition  but thats of no use really is it !      But I could show you how much better it deals with the subject .

Oh how easier things seem in those far off halcyon , sun dappled peaceful days that mellowed into a warm eventide as the golden Sun sank into a millpond ocean ....  Oh !and skirts were 10 inches above the knee.

you mean they had all that useful info in 15th edition, but they then removed it from the newer ones to fill it with lettuced like dont use plastic CU in a house, they will catch fire, but they are fine in an office

this is a private cable between house & garage

BS7671 refers to ESQCR, thus, ESQCR applies to these private overhead cables.

It would take some back research to find at what actual point in time BS7671 bowed out in deference to ESQCR.

However for the current book, ESQCR applies to private overhead cables.

If you need more info, I would have to go back through my archives.

which reg in 7671 says refer to ESQCR? looking in ESQCR it should have been at 5.8mtr... slightly higher than the 4.2 it was installed at...

Afraid so mate  .... and using pictures , better than pages of text.
