bhamoggy,Well done, 2391 is a good qually to have.

The issue that you have with the 17th is now that you are effectively probably 2 books behind.

i.e you started on the brown?

Have gone through the red, & now we have the green.

Thus you must do the full course on the green book.

It's NOT a rip off is is them trying to uphold standards.
hi, no i started the 2330 3 years ago so the level 2 & 3 has all been on the big red book.

the year before i started college, those students had started the course on the brown book but all ive done was on the BRB which is why i was told i only needed to do the update

make sure its not your college making you do the 3 day course, (more money for them)

when I done my 17th I 'had' to do the full course cos I was going from (ahem!) 15th, (I had been out of the UK for a bit)

if you already have all your work to the 17th then I think C&G would probably allow the short course,

have a look at other places and see if they will let you do the short version.

To be honest the entire system is a mess, no one knows what exam to take, most of them can't be taken, the one's that can be taken arent offered anymore.

This is the thing......C&G have apparently scrapped the short 17th course completely as of 31-12-2011

The only way now you can sit the 17th which is now classed as 2382-12 is by doing the 3 day course at a minimum of

If you have only worked on the BRB how can you need only an update?

Either you have a 16th edition qualification that needs updating to 17th, or you don't.

I can understand a short course, a one day job, of how to read the book, pointing out different sections etc.

But, surely, it should be the full exam at the end of it.

The only reason I can see them not offering this is because you have been working from the red book and now it's green you might need a bit more study of the amendments.

He did 2330 lvl2/3 (as did I) which means your trained to 17th standards so when you passed you could do the 30 question (update) 17th but they've now done away with the short course so you can only do the full course now

Red or green book is irrelevant it's still the 17th Edition
