Not liking what I heard on the news tonight with bone fragments and blood dna found in Mark Bridger's fireplace.

Do we really have to pay taxes to keep this xxxxxxxxx in prison for the rest of his despicable life!

Rant over, but feeling a bit upset over this!

I am 100% in favour of the death penalty in cases where guilt has been proven absolutely.

Whatever happened in the case of the missing girl who turned up in granny's loft?

I sometimes think that these people come from a different species, maybe millions of years ago when man evolved from apes and there were still some cavemen that hadnt quite evolved properly and were lacking in normal thought processes!

Death penalty Im all for it, if there is beyond any doubt that the person committed that murder!

What I would say though, is that the way Apache has to put our poorly pets to sleep would still be too kind for these toe rags!

We've all got to be careful in these discussions, because it's very easy to slip into 'lynch mob' mode. If we had a death penalty it should be done humanely and behind closed doors. Us taking delight in their slow painful deaths makes us almost as bad as them.

Zee - I'm not sure there are any more bad things happening, it's just with the media now we hear about them almost as it happens.

I stayed up until the wee small hours watching the Raul Moat thing end.

Well lets get out of it then and we could then also deport Mr Hook man back to Jordan .  PS I do know his name its Abu q a t a da

I wouldnt gloat in delight seeing somebody exterminated, but just think that it might help to deter these criminals and if caught and proved guilty then they should be dealt with accordingly!  I also wouldnt expect many convicts to have the death penalty but where there is absolutly no doubt at all and it was something as sickening as this then yes this is appropriate.

I'm all for sending Katie Price away too.
yeah,

well I dont care, send her this way for a couple of days first,

she just looks like a dirty ******,

dont tell Ms Lawless though,  :|

on a more serious note,

yes, we should have the death penalty, but, as Apache says, only in a controlled manner.

Not sure about that Patch, but is our 'society' getting worse or are we doing a better job of detecting it now I wonder?

Andy Guinness
I don't think it's getting worse, we just have better media covers these days. Saying that, all the media exposure in the world doesn't seem to have helped to find Madeleine McCann again. Do you think we're ever gonna find out what happened to her?

As for death penalty, I am still undecided. Part of me thinks that some people (obviously proven guilty without a doubt) deserve it. Part of me thinks that it's still wrong to kill someone, even though they have done horrible things. Killing that person would lower us to that level. However, I do firmly believe that a lifetime sentence really should mean a lifetime, not 15 years or whatever it is these days.

As a father I found it very hard to read the headlines the OP is referring to. I'll openly admit that the Baby P thing quite literally brought tears to my eyes. As for the reintroduction of the death penalty, all for it where guilt is proven beyond doubt but a word of caution! As with so much else in UK life core "services" are being privatised and dumbed down. The Forensic Science Service has been shut down with the private firms making mistakes:

Yes there are some sick individuals in this world.

I hope that if he's proven guilty, then he will have a very long, and VERY unpleasant time in prison.

I'm all for life being life... none of this namby namby 15 years... I'm just wondering what that woman is going to get for killing the 2 adults and 3 children in a house fire in our town. ...

I agree with the sentiments expressed about the death penalty but TBH I don't think it could return .

Once something like that has been removed from our system its almost impossible to return it , politically.

As with corporal punishment in schools , no party would include in their manifesto ...Article 54  :  If your children misbehave in school we reserve the right to react in the following manner :-

a)   Whack 'em on the ass with a bamboo cane until they cannot sit.

b)   Whack 'em across the fingers with same so that they cannot write for the rest of the day ........then repeat dose for poor handwriting .

c)   Whack 'em on the ass with a size 10 plimsole during gym.

d)   Hurl various objects across the room at them .  (Various from bits of chalk to wooden blackboard rubbers)

e)  Virtually lift them off the ground while grasping  their ear / short hairs and propelling them to where we want them.

f)   For 11 yr olds who offer up poor handwriting or spelling , a fist can made with the bony middle finger protruding and used to punch the offender in the upper arm .

g)  For lesser offences ( like unable to express Pi as a fraction)  a child can be made to stand out front to be made a mockery of in front of his classmates  who also didn't know but are glad its not them .

h)  And finally we reserve the right to force the really overwieght kid of the class to attempt all the vaulting horses etc. ( Until we realise that the rest of the class is not amused  because the guy is a great kid and everybody likes him and we may have a revolt on our hands )   Kieth ...I hope you did OK .

Ah schooldays

I speak from experience . :_|

As for this monster in Wales , just give him 6 months........ in a Welsh prison......but not in solitary .    If someone doesn't get to him first he'll probably hang himself  anyway before they do.
