I got called out to a local Pub which had an electrical failure in the cellar which is no longer used.. the problem is that the cellar has a sump which is fed from the pub sinks and dishwasher, and a pump which empties this water into the drain.

So when I got there I had to stand in a good 9" of dirty stagnant water to reset the MCB & RCD... the CU in the cellar also feeds the rapid chiller for the beer:_|Guiness Drink:_|

My suggestion was to fit a power failure alarm with a strobe (in the bar) to let them know... my problem is -

where can I get one??

I could probably make one, but I'd rather get a unit that is kite marked etc

Could you take an emergency bulkhead and add a burgler alarm strobe? I know not BS

Didn't think of an emergency bulkhead,,, but a strobe would be better!
use a NC contactor with coil wired to a plug in the basement. wire the strobe through this and plug into another supply, from a different board. as soon as basement supply goes off, contactor will close and strobe will flash. but this wont work if external supply fails, but then i think the lack of power would be obvious
