Hi all I have to do a quote to Install 2 x power poles in a office block , I have never installed them and was just after a quick idea on how long to allow

Cheers

hi there i have installed/ moved power poles in an office a few times and its all really dependant on what is required in the pole its self, for example, socket o/lets, RJ45 olets, phone o/lets etc.

Then there is the matter of getting a fixing at the top of the pole, i have only dealt with false cealings (Tiles) and if i cant get a fixing at the very top of the pole i put a self tapping screw into the metal grid that supports the tiles and into the powerpole and this holds it perfectly.

so just for fitting the pole its self, i would have said an hour tops, then there would be the sockets etc on top of that, in saying that you could be lucky and fit it in 20 mins

Much as Sparky says. If you have not seen one they ar usually square section aluminimum/plastic . In the top is usually a long threaded rod that you wind out to jamb against the ceiling . Usually that is above a suspended ceiling.

Pole has wiring sections for mains- telecoms- data and the boxes are usually 1 gang.

not seen the ones with the long threaded rod, but now you mention it that would just be the ticket and would save so much time
