A motor supplies 12kW of power, but is only operating at 80% efficiency. How much power does tha motor take from the supply?

= 15KW

please could anyone show me how we got the 15kw ? how to calculate this please

thank you

12/0.8 = 15

0.8 is the 80% efficiency expressed as a fraction

if you have the out put and it's 80% efficient the input needs to be higher so even if you did it wrong you get 9.6 which is impossible (12*0.8)

:D
