So can it be done without an airprint printer.

My multi-function printer is on the network, is there an app that will print to it.

I've read reviews on apps that say they do but feedback is very poor.

I have a couple of laptops connecting to the network wireless plus iPhone and iPad.

The HP Printer is connected to network on patch cable to port on router, so laptops and PC's can print to it if you load the HP software on each device.

The printer can also work in wireless mode but you still need to install printer software on the device, which you cannot do on the iPad as it's not available.

There has to be a way it will work.

From what I know there are apps that allow you to print through a PC.

I bought a HP C310 which is Airprint (bought because it is Airprint). It obviously wireless so I can print from our laptops and iPad,,,,,, but I an also email documents to it:)... maybe that's an option?

Well it seems my HP 8500 a909a is compatible with Airprint after firmware upgrade, so let's go and try then.

Incorrect, it seems my 2009 model is not compatible, however I have installed Fingerprint 2 on Laptops and PC, so providing one is on the iPad will print through it to the printer, happy days.

Well I have 3 printers connected to my wired/wireless network, all of the current devices (Windoze) can print to these so I am guessing that an IPad will not?

I can even print from my Linux devices, but basic, just can't get the full functions, well at least yet, as I have not had enough time to research and try things out, which would be expected with Linux TBH, but not from a MAC OS.

I have heard that ipad3 have a built in AirPrint app for print.By using this you can easily transfer docs from your new iPad to a wireless printer using AirPrint. You don't need any wire connection for this ,it is wireless.
