As the title says i have problems with my Tester.

It is a Megger MFT1501/02 just over 3 years old. I went to carry out an earth loop test today and this is what i got on my tester,

Any ideas what went wrong, its not the fuse in the megger although the fuse symbol is showing, i've checked that. I thought it may have been within the property, but it shows the same when checked at home..

When you turn it on to any of the funtions it should give you the battery voltage is that ok ?

When i switch on I get what i should get, it when you switch the socket on for example, it goes as the opening posts pictures.

Got megger back today, fully functional, Megger fixed it for free even though it was over its 3yrs warranty payment.

A big thanks to Mike from onsite calibrations, who sorted it all out for me, again F.O.C. Applaud Smiley

They put it down to a faulty switch and faulty Current circuit.

Glad it is sorted Mate - Even better as it was sorted for Free.

Now maybe you should sell it whuile the going's good and get a proper Fluke one. :D

Admin....

I always say to people "While you get a good reputation when things go right, it's how you deal with things when they go wrong that really matters!!"

IMO (and a couple of others on here) Megger are a great company, their customer service is second to none....

Now can you say the same about Fluke??????

:coat :coat:coat

I'm pulling the chain Noz mate. I have never tried a Megger and wouldn't hesitate to use, should the possibility occur.

Take a chill pill and relax. :D

In answer to your question.

I am impressed with Fluke UK's service. Although (Touch Wood) nothing has gone wrong with my 1652, they did replace my probes/crocs FREE of charge. And even though it was out of warrenty - they also send me a free replacement 3 pin plug ELFI test lead too.

I know you were, it's the usual Fluke / Megger thing!!BlushingBlushing

I have also been told by a HR bod that I'm so relaxed that I'm horizontal:z:z:z

I have uses loads of different makes (and types) of test equipment in the past - probably everything you could think of and more... (used to be a civvy instrumentation technician for the RAF - repairing stuff from Buccaneer bombing computers to Tornado FQI's, HUD & Inertial platforms)..

So TBH; Fluke AKA Robin, Martinale, HP, Megger ---- so long as it's good stuff and reliable then I don't careB-)B-)B-)

I have had some problems with my 1652 when nulling leads!

Press the zero button for the leads, then do an end to end continuity test and get 0.00.

Even I dont use that short of a cable run!
