I have just recently noticed that when you see a pc or laptop on a tv program or film it always seems to have the Apple logo showing

didnt think that was allowed

you dont see HP,Dell, etc....

Thats because Apple's look better and often they get them for free (or close to it).

I think it was the film The man with the golden gun, where this was first done.

Every screen in the film was a Sony, and the name was clearly visable when ever a screen was in shot.

In some TV programs, like the Proffesionals in one series every car was British Leyland, and in another series they were all Fords.

It's all down to what sort of deal the producers can work out with the manufacturers.

The proffessionals, now theres a story. Apparently for series 1 they had to pay BL for cars to use and they often were different ones each week. When it came to series 2 they got annoyed with BL so went to ford an (i believe) got the cars for free.

Many years ago the BBC were paranoid about giving free advertising , so the cornflake box in a play would have Kelloggs blacked out .

And I believe that in Britain you shouldn't see an actor from the programme also in the ad break .

I guess that just applies to actors as lewis hammy used to be in the ads as wel as in his mclarren.

i think the companies aren't allowed to pay the show/channel to use a product but it can be shown at the show/channels discretion if the product was either a gift or sold to them cheaply.

This is the selv (sic) preservation society.

I channel hop in the break, usually to music channels :D

NEVER watch ads
They drive me mad too , thank gawd for the Beeb and DVDs . I have to say these days I lose interest in a film with all the ads that interupt . Then you start zapping to other channels and the ads are on there too, talk about being brain washed.

We are now on Freesat which gives you loads of channels which all seem to show carp TBH . Quality is still coming from the BBC and to a lesser degree from ITV1 .
