Does anyone here use any PV software for predicting yields and economical analysis?

Looking at Polysun PV would like some feed back.

Thanks

Hello solarfuture, welcome to the forum. I have moved your post to start a new thread, rather than hi-jacking an existing topic.

Doc H.

I currently use PV-sol pro, perfectly adequte for most installations, though abit tricky to use at first (should do the training course). One thing I will say though, for your customers you should use standard SAP calcs to generate paybacks etc etc. I find PV-sol differs from official numbers, probably because it's more accurate, and any numbers generated by this system I point to customers do not comply with scheme rules. Howevr as it usually comes up with a higher numbers, then the system should do better than forcast by SAP. Might be a case of I need to tweak the programme, but I'm a bit too pushed for time to do that at the moment.

So are you an installer or do you work for polysun and welcome to the forum.

I've used Polysun for years, very easy to use and if you get stuck there is always some-one to help out in UK technical department.

might be a good idea for poly-sun to give a copy to one of our PV members to review rather than send spammers into to try push it......
as usual, you join a forum to get some info...see a thread..read...make a comment that some-one may find useful...then the old boy brigade realise they may have someone join that knows more than them and they try do discredit you by calling you a spammer. stick your forum...interbreed with your old boys and hopefully your forum will run out of money and you'll be forced to use facebook to bitch on.

oh dear Steps, you appear to have rattled his cage..

Forever green, exactly why Steps posted what he did I'm not sure, however, we do get sales people trying to pose as impartial members from time to time. You ask if anyone uses polysun, then tell us you've used it for years, which you have to admit does look a little suspicious. So how about clarifying your position instead of throwing teddy bears out of the pram?

Well it certainly looked to me somebody was trying to sell something may have got it wrong but if people introduced themselves and told us a bit about themselves misunderstandings would not happen.

I hate seriously sneaky salespeople, they just make life irritating. Whilst we are on the subject, you can always tell if I've rattled mugger mark cos he calls me blinky, seems to think I don't notice. No doubt a reference to the simpsons.

At what point have I asked if anyone uses polysun? have you got so few members that 2 new ones within a couple of days causes you to think you've been infiltrated by a salesman!!! it sounds very insecure to me. I found this thread by typing polysun forum into google...guess what it pointed me here...ohhh how suspicious....I am a self employed electrician of 25 years plus...I am trying to embrace all things 'green' and improve my knowledge to help increase my business turnover....yes I AM A SALESMAN.....SELLING ME...Polysun has helped me SELL ME because it is a bloody good product. I'll sing it's praises all day long...especially if it upsets members of this forum into thinking I work for Polysun...no-0ne is forcing you to like it or try it...but someone might find my comment that 'I like it'...helpful. PS if Polysun sales team ever read this forum...please contact me if you need to know where to send my commission cheque. Teddies well and truly thrown away now...pram is even in the bottom of the local canal. Goodnight.

2nd poster in as many days posting about a product(the same product!) in less than 3 posts, dont you think that looks suspicious.?
Chill out man, breath... and...relax..... PS 7000 posts? get a life...leave the house (and computer) and go and do a days work instead of worrying about your little forum being infiltrated by sneaky sales people...pps...we are all out to get you...we are very sneaky and play games all day long trying to win more sales. NOT i go out to work every day for at least 12 hours...I can't imagine a Polysun Rep ever putting in that much time.

Mr Solarfuture, forget all the crap these forum members seem to spout......polysun solar thermal is very detailed and seems to be very accurate, If the PV version is half as good then you need to consider buying it...PS....Despite what the other lot of this inbred forum think...I DO NOT WORK FOR POLYSUN....NOR DO I EARN ANY COMMISSION FROM THEM....

Please have a look at some of the comments left by some of your 'Distinguished" members...they do not encourage new members to this forum and I think they need to chill out a bit. I am now leaving this forum and will not be returning.

Mr Green, I have a life, and its not just here, try most westernised countries, Ive worked in quite a few of them, and polysun is a product I have only heard about in this thread, never came across it before,

if it bothers you so much then why keep posting,?

this is my local pub, if you dont like the ale then why come back?

<7000 posts in 3 years isnt really that much, <6 posts a day, hardly addiction is it?

maybe I need to go to the real pub and drink more, or just work more, so I never see my family, just do 14hr days 7 days a week and only get home once every 3 months,?

oh, wait, Ive done that, maybe Im just too lazy to leave the house these days.......

Hey, Forever Green, I got some news for you!! If you seriously imagine that you have a greater knowledge or experience, than say, Steptoe, or many other of the members of this forum, then you must be COMPLETELY NUTS.

I personally have ALWAYS found members of this forum to be more than helpful, and really dead keen to try to impart some of their knowledge and experience to others that WANT TO LEARN and not just ask questions. [There is a BIG difference]

If you do not like this forum, then go and join another one!!

Having said that, perhaps things just set off on the "wrong foot" as it were. Honestly, you will find this is a great forum if you give it a chance.....

Perhaps we should all start again....

john..
