Does the alarm still work if you take out the Alkaline battery backup, if it does your mains are still connected and it could be a failure of the green LED.

If its anything like other models in the Aico range you need a battery fitted to slide it back onto the base...

and if the LED has failed...
you still need to get a suitable voltage tester to confirm the supply is actually at the terminals in the base anyway...

The OP said the alarm MCB also supplies a light..
so there could be multiple points in the circuit where a wire has come loose.. no necessarily just at the alarm itself..

Need to get back to basics and verify the supply cable first.. !

You don't need the battery in place to slide the alarm onto the base, just the dropped down flag pushed up into the void, thats why I suggested seeing if the alarm still works with the backup battery removed that will verify the supply cable.

The OP said the light still works, so if the alarm does not have power it's only the connection between the light and the alarm that may be suspect.

When you replaced the alarm did you replace the base as well or try to clip the connector straight onto the new alarm?
Aico alarms need to be clipped firmly onto an Aico base to work properly - there should be a positive 'click' sound when they are on and you won't be able to remove it without inserting a screwdriver, although they can appear to work if some of the pins are shorted out.

I suspect you have connected the wiring loom from the old alarm and not connected directly to the mains supply - the interlink wire will be parked in the base where the other wires connect to the fixed wiring.
