Recent Telephone Fault

Just thought i would post this one as it got me baffled for a while

1 master socket and 3 extensions

walk round phone in the master socket

sky in another

modem in another

old telephone in another

fault was a side tone

isolate all extensions tone goes

remove extensions 1 at a time goes when last one removed

reconnect all extensions and remove walk about phone and use my 5 quid argos jobbie

clear

walkabout plugged back in its clear......bum

ran out of time left it with customer any probs again let me know

monday morning.....its crackling

go out there and it is only when you call in,,,,it get progressively worse the longer you stay on

remove extensions it is clear ???? wtf

points to the extensions again,,,not convinced though

1 hour later phone sky up to check the line.......its faulty outside !!!!!!

So it was the extensions causing the outside fault to appear.....

when your stuck iand scratching your head ts worth the call....
