Guys,

I have noticed that several of you "record your calls", I assume that you do this to outgoing as well as incoming calls?

How do you actually do this?

Do you actually warn every caller/receiver that calls are recorded?

Or have you got one of those "Your call may be recorded for training and seafety purposes" on a message, which the caller gets diverted to, before you answer the phone?

Many Thanks,

Admin.

You can inform people however you like, either recorded message, spoken warning every time you answer the phone or written warning in some form or other. You don;t necessarily have to tell people directly they are being recorded, but you have to make some effort to let people know they are being recorded.

Actually the law allows anyone to record telephone conversations, as long as one of the parties is aware that the conversation is being recorded.

In the case of your own calls, as you are aware that it is being recorded, there is no obligation to inform the other party.

If you are recording the occasional call that is the case. If you are recording all calls for business purposes then there are other obligations to fulfil, such as informing the other party.
