My solar system was installed in Nov.2011 and consists of; 10x Sanyo 240Wp panels and a Sunny Boy SB2500HF inverter. We are currently receiving the maximum FIT payments. As the inverter is now out of guarantee I am considering replacing the inverter with a Sunny Boy 3.0. Would this need reporting to my DNO and possibly impact on the Fit payments.

If it's working why change it?

If you are adamant you want to charge the inverter, run it past your FiT provider first. They may not like changing it for a larger inverter, although I've had no problems with changing failed inverters on a like for like basis.
