Apologies in advance for the confused question. I need to replace a broken oven. The current oven is a Whirlpool rated at 2.4kW and hardwired into a switched 'box' that also has a plug socket. I can't find any specifications for the current oven online. it is a Whirlpool for Ikea Type FCEM6.
The oven i am looking at as a replacement is also rated at 2.4kW but says that it  requires hardwiring to a 13 Amp fuse. How do i know if this is suitable as a replacement. The box that it is currently hardwired into has no indication as to what amp it is?
Is it safe to assume that as I am replacing like for like kW, it will be OK?

You will probably find the cooker switch feeds to a cooker outlet plate (a big terminal box) where the ovens flex joins to.

Replace that cooker outlet plate with a Switched Fused Connection unit with a 13A fuse in it and you then comply with the manufacturers instructions.
