Doing a board upgrade today & wondered if these are common in your particular area.

After 500 years in the trade I never came upon these before.

The make is Revo  .  I'll do an after piccy  tomorrow if I remember .

White stuff is that fluffy cavity insulation stuff ,  they've filled the cavity walls under pressure and its found it's way into the board .

New board other side of the wall in garage ,  so extended those I couldn't re-route & made a new lid for the board .

Back tomorrow to install bonding .

I think these were fitted by the old electricity board, MEB ,  who probably wired the estate .

When you consider they would never allow any contractor's accessories within their meter boxes ,  only the meter tails .

Not those exact ones, come across a few similar in flats in Telford though. Been some years since I touched one so can;t remember the make.

Bonding done this morning .  I thought the job would be more awkward than it was TBH ,  looking at that old fuseboard .

But a few  crimps & Wagos  in the box & all the other cables were long enough to reach new board.

They were fine , all PVC , no rubber  except that bit from the switch in the garage ,plus the usual borrowed neutral .

The Ze  was , I think , the lowest I've encountered  at  0.01 Ohm .   Theres a blooming great pylon close by , perhaps they use it as an earth rod. :innocent

That was lucky that the DNO rocked up and fitted the REC2  :innocent

anyway, curve boards....I have fitted a fair few of these when the client won't lash out on a DP @SBS Dave board

RCBO to,every cct with possible exception of Alarm and garage main subject to,the usual

anyway...fitted one last week and there was NO connection between the metal case and the Earth bar

just saying

I haven't     they haven't have they ?    Lucky they were working next door  , moved the meter , fitted the isolator , resealed .

Kerch ...I'll check the next one for earth continuity,  what is it ,  the paint ?     I have one in the Evans Electric Warehousing Facility , I'll check it .

They normally put the small section on the outgoing terminals,

I've even seen them peel off the sticker so it doesn't look wrong, ;)

EDIT

my mistake, they actually have put it on right, bloody small pictures on a phone,

Sorry.   :Blushing

Another board change today , same make , Curve , so I checked the continuity between earth bar and box .   Only using the Steinel  but could'nt get continuity between earth bar and any of the screws , din rail & front cover .     Continuity was there between earth bar & the earth stud though.   Theres a screw at the end of the earth bar into the frame I see.

Well there has been on every other one I have fitted......except the last one!

Steinel eh!    Old School Combi Check per chance?....I had one for years until some scrote decided that they had more right to it than I did

So the screw was actually missing eh!    It was fitted on mine but as I say , no reading ,  I 'd guess the megger would give a reading .  I'm thinking its the powder coating acting as an insulator.

They're a sturdy board , just right for a drop forging factory.

My mate likes them , I think I prefer the Eaton , prices are reasonable now .
