Has anyone out there ever come across any stainless backboxes? I have a client who has a problem with damp in the walls. The ordinary galv boxes start rusting after a short while and stain the wallpaper. I have been given the task of replacing the worst ones and was just looking for an alternative.

I had thought about plastic patresses but they don,t look right when sunk into walls.

Cheers

Fairly certain you can get plastic versions of knockout boxes. I'd be more concerned about the damp and the sockets etc... though TBH.

Knock a big hole in the wall put plenty of sand and cement behind it 1/1 should stop them rusting for a while but stop the damp is the best solution.

cut square piece of dpc allow to fold around sides patch with sand cement and water repelant:)

Got to agree with other opinions about sorting out the damp problems first surely if its that bad it must be affecting the cables too.
