Evening all,

New to the forum (obviously), I'm a 23 year old lad serving my final week in the British Army. Got myself an industrial apprenticeship involving the fitting of variable speed drives.

Completely new to me, but I'd like to think I've got a decent graft in me and that my heads screwed on tight, so hopefully I'll get on ok.

Questions been asked thousands of times, but anyone got any tips or info to help me make a decent first impression? I start Monday, so any decent first day advice would be mega!

Cheers all and goodnight!

Russ

Welcome to the forum mate. Good to have you on-board. Good luck for next week and if you want info on big drives our resident canoeboy is ur man :)

You have or will be making an impression after serving in the Army. You will be punctual of smart appearance and polite.

Remember civvy street mates are nothing like what you will be leaving behind, keep your ears and eyes open and absorb everything before you make any final judgements.

Finally good luck.

Cheers, I plan to.

Speaking of appearance, bone as it may sound, what do I wear on my first day? I understand it's no fashion parade, yet I don't want to turn up looking like I'm a seasoned sparky with all the gear and no idea.

Maybe dont mention that your tef account is called the blue waffle lol (anyone who's interested, google it in google images) lol

:slap haha. Why blue waffle as your username mate. Any story behind that one ? Cheers
Nothing special at all, a load of us at work have always had various STI or infectious usernames just for a laugh....

I've always gone for the much loved 'bluewaffle'
