Schrack RCD Mainswitch

Hi,

Anyone know where stocks one of these ?

The RCD mainswitch isnt tripping so needs replacing as ive added another socket but never heard or seen one this make before.

Any thoughts please

If not ill chnage the whole board or rcbo the submain

Sorry matty I have never seen one of those either one of the MCB's does have a general electric logo so could be one of their spin off cheaper boards. Could be financially better to replace the board with a well known name.

We use a fair few small Schrack relays on kit imported from NZ. Thought hey were quite well known..........maybe more industrial Company (Shrack)is Austrian. Try Shrack here:

Thanks guys just rung the shop where he bought it about ten years ago and they said bring it in and they'll match it up. Not holding breath tho

If you are worried about it possibly failing +/or catching fire then fit a Wylex....................... :coat

I'd just stick a GE 2 mod RCD in there and gain 2 extra ways in the board. (Why a 4 mod RCD in such a small board? headbang )

If the makers name was ground/defaced/removed from a board can you fit any make of breakers in it ; \ ; \ ; \

Can't say I can see a makers mark on the board, looks like one of those cheap enclosures you buy empty and shove in what you want. Hence why I said a GE RCD so it matches the MCB,s.

(Well, nearly, there is 1 GE MCB in there! )

Heres the story.

I went back to the shop where the customer purchased that board 7 years ago and the owner disappeared out back and produces an identical schrack RCD and shows me it working by connecting it up to "a live and neutral cable" he has sitting behind the counter (LIVE ALL TIME) in one side of RCD and wires a lamp in holder to outgoing side of RCD and asks me to press the test button. It tripped out on the test button so i took it with me and fitted it this morning. It tripped on the button but not when tested. I ramp tested it and my meter showed >51mA so he sold me a duffer.

In the end i stuck a Wylex RCD in there just to 'mix it up' a bit lol. All tested fine and customer happy with his mix and match dis board

I took the duff RCD back to the shop and told him it doesnt trip when it should and he said 'maybe i should keep it for when someone has tripping problems, install this rcd and the problems go away' I mean FCOL FFS NO. I said he can keep it and i wouldnt mess about when its a lifesaving device and somebody could be killed.

Ive got a conscience but dont think he had one
