It's all to do with what they banned them putting in dog food about 18 years ago. Suddenly stopped happening then. Poor dogs.White poo! What was that all about? Haven't seen any since I was about 10!

nasty, waste clay and ash from power stations
I am pulling your leg! (nip this in the bud)nasty, dont u still get ash in some animal food
i see, will stop mixing ash in to bulk up my pet food thenI am pulling your leg! (nip this in the bud) 'Ash' in pet foods isn't really added ash, it's what's left when the food has been combusted. Gives a very rough estimation of the undigested components (although under-estimates it). That is a serious answer.
AH,,, back to the old " how long does it take silicone to eat though your insulation? " questionsilicone is an insulator so can be used. Decorators caulk is not as I found out on a job the other day after decorator shorted out socket circuit.Batty
I phoned the manufacturers on this one, and was told that there is a difference between low modulus and high modulus silicone as regards the plasticizing of PVC. acryllic selants will not plasticize but I fear they might be conductors. The effect on PLASTICISED PVC is the real issue here! The majority of PVC is used as building plastic which does not require continued flexibility and hence has far, far less plasticiser than the insulation on domestic cables. The long term effects of silicone on cable insulation is unknown (or not admitted to if it is). What I fail to understand is how, on the one hand, we are supposed to calculate the CCC of a cable to the second decimal place yet happily subject that same cable to unknown influences because it is a cheaper alternative than more expensive, existing, tried and tested sealants............
I think I may have found the answer. :coat
