Hi. I am looking at designing a device that would use a sensor to sense a frequency from a gearbox for instance to determine wear/damage etc and convert it into an electrical signal to then be transmitted via Bluetooth to a laptop. Firstly. Would this even be possible? Secondly. How would I achieve this? Thank you in advance for your input

 
Aircraft Electrical engineer for 26 years. So You could say a "bit" of knowledge. Just never been required to build a circuit for this type of idea before. Thanks for the link 

 
Yes it does. But this is for a university project I need to construct a basic model showing the concept would work

 
Yeah the OBD system is pretty much what I’m after but just utilising it in a helicopter. Just need to know how I am going to replicate an accelerometer input, cct, storage, then Bluetooth output!!
