I’ve taken a old security light out and put a new one in, same wiring but s soon as I turn the light on from inside it trips the downstairs lights rcd switch ? 
many ideas

what was wrong with the old light.?

there is a slim chance (1%) fitting may be faulty ( even the utter that Buy and Que sell usually works first time then blows up,a few months later)

99% Chance it's connected wrong
