Hi,

The job is was talking about the other day went ok until a recent phone call. The pump installed is a 'negative head' pump and where it's been installed it won't work. So I've been asked to redo what ive done.

I've spurred off 16a radial circuit by fcu 3a. Then fed a single socket in the loft which states 'shower pump only'. The shower pump has got to be moved from loft to airing cupboard where I've spurred from. Would it be a acceptable to remove 3a fcu and put single socket in it's place. It's fed in 2.5mm so I can't really see a problem. The shower pump has a plug which is fused at 3a.

Cheers

Why dont you just chop the plug off and wire the pump into the load side of the spur?

 Cheers for that matty, never considered this before! Thank god none of mine have ever gone wrong! Thought they just had to supply them with a plug to prevent any diyers connecting them.

That sounds fine to me no issues with doing it that way, maybe put label on plug saying shower pump.

if that still doesnt work, have put a switch in to start it. basically and air bellow push switch in shower, air hose to next to pump, air pressure switch and connect this accross the reed switch on the pipes. press button and it thinks there is water flow so starts. then there is water flow so it stays on.

done this a few times
