Smokes On CU change

Got to do a CU change on an 8th floor flat, any smokes required ?? no re-wire just the CU change.

He's going to rent it out.

Just check with you lot on latest building or leccy Regs.

If customer has asked for them then fit them. If not then suggest them and if they say no then thats ok too. CU change does not require smokes.

Just checking as someone mentioned it to me a while ago, I said it's only on a New build orExtension work sometimes I offer on re-wire, thing is it's concrete floors & ceilings with those plasterboard & eggbox walls 50mm thick, would have been a right pain in the ass.

Best to check.

As the other guys have said preferable but NOT essential.

The only thing I would add is if the don't have any and don't want you to fit any...

Strongly recommend they go down the local B&Q and pick some battery ones up.. they are so dirt cheep!

Or ring the local fire brigade.. they may come and fit some for free! ;)

Not actually legal required on a rewire either... :(

Its only on new builds or extension work involving building control where it is legally enforced.
