Hvae run a couple of smoke alarms in from upstairs lighting circuit(fresh plastered walls so could not go back to CU) on the job I using for my assessment in a couple of weeks, shall I put this down on the EIC or would it be better to have it down on a MWC instead. ?

If you`ve tapped into an existing circuit; then you haven`t installed a new circuit - so a minor works (MWC) would be the appropriate cert, along with a BS5839 smoke alarm cert. IIRC, job is notifiable, too.

Make sure you`ve re-labelled the OCPD to reflect its new usage.
