Only one question. What's the fascination with ipods. My wife has one, and I can't see the attractions:Ipod.
You can ONLY use itunes to download music to the ipod
You CAN'T copy music FROM the ipod to your computer
Expensive.
Other Generic MP3 player:
Appears to the PC as just a USB hard drive. Can copy music in any format to AND from the player just using windows explorer or any other software I choose.
Cheap.
About the ONLY reason I can think, why anyone would choose an ipod over any other MP3/4 player is the "ipod dock" facility. That's why Mrs PD has one, so it can plug into a little mini hi fi system and the hi fi's own remote control then controls the ipod.
But if you just want something in your pocket to listen to music on, the very last thing I would buy is an ipod. I would settle for the cheap MP3 player I have that does not lock you into one particular, and very inflexible software package to load music onto it, and does let you copy music from it to the PC.
Comments please, because I just can't see the attraction of an ipod.
P.S. The ipod we have was one I bought cheap from ebay as faulty. It was completely dead. But simply opening it up, unplugging and re connecting the internal battery restored it to working. I guess it had just crashed, and needed a proper cold re boot to get it going again.
