I know you shouldn't export the earth with PME to a shed and always bang in a rod or two to run a CCU in the garden building.

But I am currently quoting to install 2 outdoor sockets (MK Masterseal) either side of some new decking I will be running this from a fused connection unit (redundant as it used to feed a shed)

it will obviously all be rcd'd but what about the exported earth I presume you wouldn't bang in a rod for each socket and I wouldn't have thought you would install a new consumer unit spurred of a ring?? because of the layout it is not feasible to run in a new supply to an IP rated ccu.

Any advice??

Here's the email address for the IEE technical - [email protected] - you should email them with that useful bit of information.

If you do it soon they may be in time to get it in the 'ammended' version of the 'Regs' later this year. :)

Do you bang a rod in for the 'extension lead' that you use to power your lawnmower?

This subject is really getting tedious - I think there's 4 threads on the go about it now - plus the countless others in the archives.

You are getting confused Lillpete, over-complicating a very simple install. Just fix your sockets, connect to a suitable local circuit and ensure you have RCD protection. Nothing further needed.
