Welcome to the forum mate. Are you talking about the ring final continuity test where you join line and Cpc of differing legs and test at each socket to get r1+r2. But people don't bother doing line and neutral crossover test ? :)

This has come up before.  I have seen a few crossed

polarity sockets renewed without testing and you could

miss them if you do not carry it out, even if it is a new

install.

I have heard of cases where there were electrocutions

as a consequence of omitting it.

yes, I am with Matty on this. :Applaud

Hi Matty, that's exactly what I am talking about. Most electricians I've met don't do it and it puzzles me. The main excuse is " it's not listed on the test sheets so why bother". Surely, this isn't right!

Without going into too much detail and I

have a view on this with regard to the method

of reporting, if you carry out the stage 2 and

3 tests you are carrying out a polarity test on

the socket circuit, be it a radial or a RFC.

If you do NOT do this, how can you tick the

box marked polarity?
