Sub Station Question

Hello All,

As part of my home work I have been asked to research sub station enclosures and establish the height of fences surounding etc.

A boring topic I know but any ideas? I have looked on the net but ne luck.

These sort of things would be governed by local planning rules as set by the council. Many things such as conservation areas also have to be taken into account. I know that round here that boundary fences and walls must not be more than 6ft tall and that reduces to 3ft if close to a road.

Nowadays theft is more of an issue and I have noticed the substations being enclosed in fibreglass cabins rather than behind a fence.

They should just make the fences 11kv then no-one will f*** with them and hopefully would take a few out of the gene pool too
