Surveilance cameras or what?

Does anyone have any blue camera looking things on the roadside by them . Not very big, nothing like big yellow speed scameras .

Usually double headed , blue posts and cases, watches you from the front then from the back. Fixed not movable . No sign or warning , nobody gets traffic fines from them .

Some by us an a stretch of the A452 (Chester Rd) north Birmingham/ Sutton border.

What I find strange is that no one seems to be bothered about knowing what they are . Someone asked on a phone-in on local radio , copper in the studio ,said he didn't know about them !

ANPR cameras for traffic monitoring (ever noticed how the motorway signs tell you a time to a junction, or google maps knows traffic conditions?)

I believe they are somethink to do with trafficmaster which never took off from what i gather i've never seen a camera in any of them.

As you qiute a few on the chester road from cannock too kingstanding.

They are; as Bacon says, Trafficmaster cameras.

I have seen a lot of these in West Wales.

Part of the Trafficmaster system. My missus's Rover 25 has Trafficmaster - it gives road and traffic info everytime you pass one of these posts. It's in code though, so i don't understand it as I hardly ever drive her car.
