Hi,

Say you have a 100A cut-out with meter tails split in a Henly block. One set goes to your main fuseboard and one set goes to a switched fuse which feeds to an additional fuseboard 10 metres away.

Why does the long set of tails need to be fed through a switched fuse??

Thanks

Matt

isolation, and it needs protection by a fuse - the DNO fus eis only there to protect their incoming cable. but normally doubles as protection for tails, unless they are long in which case it needs a switch fuse

Because if there is a fault between tails or at board you want it to take fuse out in switchfuse rather than main fuse.

Wrong.

The DNO will only allow fault protection from their fuse on the first 3 or 4 meters of tails.

Any longer and its down to the installer.

Thats why you can install a switchfuse remote from the incoming supply within lengths stated.
