Any Air Con. men on the Forum ??I was told once that an Air Con unit is almost 100% efficient . Is that correct?
Deke we do Air-con any yes typically a inverter (hot and cold) has an input of about 1.kW and an output of kW on heating and kW on cooling so to answer your question yes.

I have a average 2 bed House (no kids Yet) and with one A/C in bedroom and one in lounge both on together they heat or cool the house

So they are using 3kW and i am getting 12kW on heating and 10kW on cooling

Depending on the layout they can be a very effecient and effective way of heating a home, as well as the added benefit of cooling in the hot weather.

Air conditioning = Cooling

Heat pump = Heating & Cooling

With a variety of inside units wall mounted, ceiling mounted, ceiling cassette, floor mounted, ducted (good for lofts) you can also include in some fresh air intake as well.

2 air handlers (inside units) to 1 condenser (outside unit) and just on a pedantic nature now they do not cool they take the heat away ROTFWL , as you will guess the biggest usage is the compressor apart from that its normally 2 small motors and the control circuit.

Air conditioning and heat pump type systems are generally 300 to 400% efficient in terms of electrical input. Sounds weird, but the electricity supply is only doing part of the job.

It would depend on alot of factors Mr Steptoe,

How much space you have ? how much you wish to spend ? do you want large single drain units or alot of smaller lesser usage units ?
