Evening chaps,

I have just been to price a job that involves moving a telephone socket. I have not done one before

Can I extend to existing cable via a JB? And how hard are they to do?

is it the master or secondary socket? you can get IDC JB for joining phone cable. or if its outside, use jelly crimps

I'm not sure if its a master, I would suspect secondry as nothing was pluged into it. How do you tell the diferance

its inside.

The master socket has three components on it's circuit board, one is a large lightning supressor, the secondary has no components. You will find connection details with the socket you buy, will need 4 core cable ( they call it 2 Pair) socket should come with a throw away plastic IDC tool.

Basically wired in paralell, colour to colour, number to number.
