hi there guys i am doing my testing later and need some help with polarity testing?and also insulation resistance testing dont really know how to test and wat i am supposed to checkplease can any1 help me by explaining how its done thanks?? and also has to be done (dead).....

I have moved this thread to the student and learning zone as it is more appropriate here.

Polarity testing is achieved by doing other tests and by visual confirmation, the tests are the standard end to end measurements and the R1+R2 tests if done properly polarity will always be confirmed.

Insulation testing is when you apply a voltage/amperage usually DC, down each conductor for a set impulse time, this test checks for any damage to the insulation of the installed cable.

These tests are done dead, and only when polarity is confirmed.

You will need to read your notes again so that you can grasp the fundamentals testing is vital to get right.
