an uncle of mine used to have one of those big lantern batteries ( two thumb screws, connected direct to lantern torch body ) 

positive connected to an aluminium comb, negative to a metal,expanding watch strap,affair. He combed his hair with the Ali comb with the other end connected to his abbreviation for Richard. I ye not
