Im mad busy for next 2 weeks, subby and private, after that nothing solid til 3rd week Jan,

I know some more subby maintenance will come in before xmas, and early Jan, just when Im not sure, or how much.

Til xmas Im ok, first 2weeks Jan its gonna be light.

This is ALWAYS the busiest time of year. Everyone wants everything finished by Christmas.

But this year I have to go away for a few days, and this time it wasn't much of a problem moving jobs around to allow for that. In previous years I would have worked stupid hours or weekends to allow that to happen.  so it must be quieter than normal.

Not much booked for next year though a few jobs in the pipeline. I might finally get time to do the jobs I want to at home.

I'm manic and have been for some time, the Xmas rush is well under way and I already have the basics covered in January so looking forward to some time off over Xmas

I'm mad busy (for me) at the moment,, like I have said on other threads I'm in the middle of 2 rewires, one of which has to be completed by the 18th and I have another 2 on the books to do (one is my parents new house  ).. I also have another 3 pages of my notebook full of people to ring when I've got some spare time.

I'd say that this is the busiest that I've ever been at this time of year.

only got a couple of days spare before xmas which isnt good for me as most of what i do is reactive maintenance.  Can see a few problems occurring beofre xmas.

Was doing silly hours last week and had a exam, so had 9 voicemail's stacked up to work through today, mostly not interesting.

Got alot of money to get in over the next few weeks! Think my largest customer might have given me the elbow as havnt heard from them for a couple of weeks which is very rare and they are not paying two invoices from months ago despite paying recent ones.  Think there is a argument going on over PO numbers, which i have nothing to do with, so next year could be a bit interesting, but im hopefully going into to do a few other things next year so not that worried at the moment.

Fairly busy at the moment, got 10 EICR's lined up for local landlord  but tenants are not wanting them done until after Christmas, so January will be busy  (picked these up on the back of changing an immersion stat as a rush job).

Also had a call from the builder where I quoted for the yard lighting + shipping container power/sockets & office rewire..........Thats to be started mid Jan to tie up with SSE meter move.

But on the run up to Christmas     I've got some maint work at a couple of secondary schools...........have informed them on Friday I will not change 8 strip light/fittings in the science labs as they are mounted on AIB............Ballast change only then.

Plus a couple of smaller domestic jobs; extra sockets & light fittings.

manic!

Booked up till end of Jan.  Phone doesn't stop ringing.  I usually never turn anything away but I'm having to now unless they can wait till Feb.

Got 3 or 4 commercials ongoing........including 1 pub, 1 pub/B+B, 1 existing brewery needing modifications, and the planning for the "new" brewery ( think the supply is going to cost circa £50,000........Glad it isn`t me thats paying!)

been busy for months, it's like the world has woken up again. Been passing small jobs to mates for ages, but even they are too busy now. I think people have got over the doom and gloom and just decided to get on with life????

I am absolutely flat out - booked up until February now. Got a couple of hotels who are throwing work at us so enough work to keep 4 of us busy. Started turning some smaller work down which makes me angry as I hate turning work away!

Long may it continue!

booked solid at the moment!  need to split ourselves in 2 and be in 2 places at once per person!

Got Jan, Feb, and March booked in for Rewires

just finishing of a flat refurbishment, getting shouted at  by painters, plumbers, joiners and roofers when i turn the lighting cct off to change pendant fittings etc  someone please warn me next time to go in and do the job when other trades are not in!!!!!!

Well ...that was the year that was .....as they used to say .   So hows everyone doing now , better ...worse... ?

I have decent sized job in line , just waiting for building work to move on a bit , so it was a board change, half a day last week and sit in the garden.

This week , one Minor Works then watching Wimbledon .   A 3K late payment came in so that'll do me for a bit , butter on the bread this week.

Hows everyone else doing ......July  2013 ?

well, I havent much to judge on,

I only started SE last Jan, but, so far,

this is sooo much busier than I could have expected,

Im turning work down that I should be taking,

a lot of that though is down to having a load of subby work, do I sacrifice that for private work or not.?

I chose not to, as I know if I dont put the subby work back on time I will lose it totally, and it is regular work, pays the mortgage etc........

Well its been up and down for us since January, 1 week busy then a week scrappy, however the tide has turned and currently installing 10k of garden lighting and had 3 big jobs confirmed last week to the tune of 150k so that's something to keep us going.

Very quiet here. Only small jobs. Not had a big job since the end of last year.

Today I'm going to go and get some bits for my Landrover. Busy drawing up my new house plans etc.

It's not all doom and gloom. 2 industrial units to wire coming up soon, last time I drove by the footings were in so won't be too long now.
